Show jumpingTrail riding and trail camps
We started life in 2002 as Logan River Redlands Horse Trail Riding Club, and trail riding is still at the heart of the club. We are affiliated with ATHRA, so as an ATHRA member you can ride at all club rides as well as other affiliated clubs' rides and camps.
Since 2023 we have offered both short and long rides, and our Avachat rides are held on the first Tuesday of the month, hosted by our president Linda Dewar. Trail camps take us further afield for a weekend.
Trail obstacles and the mechanical cow
New obstacles, new activities and new workshops on the fourth Saturday of the month, with an obstacle competition later in the year. Bridges, gates, flags, the mechanical cow: it is the best way to build a brave, handy horse.

Ranch
New in 2026 at Boondarn Park. On the third Sunday of the month we host a mixture of educational clinics, training days and club points days. Ranch riding, ranch trail and ranch rail classes are scored on the quality of each manoeuvre, and AQHA is the competition pathway. You will need ATHRA membership to participate.
Working equitation
Working equitation has been part of the club since 2018 and runs every second Saturday or Sunday of the month. As an affiliate of ANWE we provide the pathway to state-level competition, and we cater just as well for riders who want to come and learn. An ANWE rider levy is required to compete.
Dressage and show jumping
Both are new to the club in 2026, made possible by the move to Boondarn Park. As an Equestrian Queensland affiliate we run dressage protocol days, clinics and competitions, some of them promoted through Equestrian Queensland, and show jumping training on the grassed area.
Questions riders ask
Can I come and watch first?
Yes. Everyone is welcome to come down and observe our activities on the weekend. Say hello at the canteen.
Do I need my own horse?
Yes, we are a club rather than a riding school, so members bring their own horses. Non-riding members are very welcome too.
Which membership do I need?
It depends on the discipline: Equestrian Queensland for dressage, show jumping and working equitation, ATHRA for trail riding, obstacles, camps and ranch. See the membership page.
What do I wear?
A current safety helmet and appropriate footwear, and be presentable. Helmets must be fastened whenever you are mounted on the grounds.
Can members use the grounds between events?
Current Platinum and Gold members with an Equestrian Australia recreational rider membership or above can use the grounds and the undercover arena outside organised events. The committee provides the gate code with that membership.
